Card Duplicator is a BurnerOS app that securely backs up your Burner by cloning its associated wallet private key onto another Burner. When duplicating a Burner, its private key remains non-extractable. If your original Burner is lost, stolen, or damaged, the duplicate Burner provides a reliable backup, allowing you to restore access to your wallet securely.
The duplication process transfers the secure private key directly between Burners using a mechanism that ensures the key is never exposed or accessible outside the devices involved. This means your private key is safeguarded even during duplication. The process is simple and does not require exposing or compromising your private key in any way.
How does duplication work securely?
During the duplication process, Card Duplicator uses hardware and software-level security measures to clone your Burner without extracting or exposing its private key. The same encryption and entropy mechanisms that secure the key on a single Burner are applied during the key transfer from the source to the target Burner.
The PIN-protected duplication process ensures that only authorized users can initiate cloning, and no intermediate systems store or interact with the private key data. For added confidence, future updates will include features to indicate whether a Burner card is an original, a duplicate, or one of multiple authorized duplicates.
